Curriculum Information

What does your child learn at school each day?

Find information about our curriculum subjects here. If you have any questions regarding our curriculum, if you are a current family, please ask one of the Class Teachers. If you are not one of our All Saints families you can email the school office on admin@allsaints.reading.sch.uk for more information about our curriculum.

At All Saints Infants School, we have developed our own detailed systematic phonic scheme that builds on Letters and Sounds (2007).  It provides our teachers with comprehensive planning and resources for daily direct teaching sessions from the beginning of Foundation.

As well as phonic lessons, children will take part in guided reading and whole class reading lessons. To consolidate their learning in school, children are provided with a decodable book to match their phonic knowledge to read at home. We use a range of reading scheme books for this purpose. The main schemes used are Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised, Rocket Phonics and Bug Club Phonics. These books have been banded to ensure they align with our phonic scheme.
